Join interdisciplinary teams of international artists, designers, architects and people interested in urban development and city participation strengthen the artistic creativity and discover new applications for materials and craft techniques.
Urban Labs open up for experimental work with concrete, cork and textures to imagine the urban surroundings in a conceptual way.
Co-criation of urban furniture
This project will be reframe the city using design, architecture and sculpture for urban interventions that make the city more liveable, create and showcase innovative solutions for public spaces and to increase the visibility of the young creative community.
Within this experimental process new types of urban installations were created to be part of a new urban space in order to open up the car parking for a new urban opportunities.
Espigar no chão was developed within the framework of Locomotiva, an intervention by Porto Lazer.
The project structure will is organised in 3 different project phases:
FIELD TRIPS for research and detailed investigation about key materials,
CREATIVE CITY LABS for exploring urban space scenarios within different disciplines and
SHOWCASES for exhibiting the final results during a major design event.
Interacting with the city
Espigar no chão was an collaborative experience based on the design concept of the urban furniture Mö – a project by Irena Übler commissioned of Porto Lazer for the esplanade of the train station São Bento, Porto.
